Malaysian sex bloggers turn up for MCMC questioning The Malaysian Insider

By Trinna Leong

A pair of sex bloggers turned up for questioning by Malaysian internet regulators today after they raised a firestorm online for a Facebook posting said to be insulting Muslims in the holy Ramadan fasting month.

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) had told the couple, Alvin Tan and Vivian Lee, to come in for questioning at its Jalan Raja office in Kuala Lumpur.

The couple had posted a picture last Thursday with the greeting “Selamat Berbuka Puasa” (happy breaking fast) while eating “bak kut teh” (herbal pork soup). A halal logo was also displayed on the picture.

Facebook later shut down the page just as MCMC launched an investigation after receiving reports from the public about the couple who had been in the limelight since last October for posting lewd sexual acts in a Tumblr blog.
“You may shut us down now but we will be back and be stronger and better than ever. Enjoy your Ramadan for now,” the couple posted on their Alvin and Vivian Twitter account over the weekend. – July 15, 2013.
