Facebook bars Dr M’s blog

KUALA LUMPUR: FACEBOOK, the global social networking behemoth with 1.28 billion active users, has barred users from establishing direct links to chedet.cc, the blog site of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
No official reason has been offered, although users can still copy and paste Dr Mahathir’s writings onto their status page for public viewing.

Attempts to form a link were met with this pop-up: “You can’t post this because it has a blocked link. The content you’re trying to share includes a link that our security systems detected to be unsafe. Please remove this link to continue. If you think you’re seeing this by mistake, please let us know.”
Android’s Facebook application came up with this warning: “Something went wrong”. Your post failed. The action attempted has been deemed abusive or is otherwise disallowed.”

It is not known when the barring was instituted but Dr Mahathir’s latest posting, “The Jews”, was especially searing, a commentary giving his historical perspective on how Israel transmogrified from pitied Jews emerging from the Holocaust to a monster worse than Nazis bent on killing Arabs, particularly Palestinians.

The barring was detected to have to have spread across the World Wide Web and Android and IOS platforms, but users circumvented the block by copy and pasting wholesale Dr Mahathir’s latest posting, which appeared untrammelled.
Since his tenure as prime minister, Dr Mahathir has come under Israel’s crosshairs as a leader who has strongly criticised the Zionist state for various atrocities against the Palestinians over the decades.

In 2003, Dr Mahathir blasted Israel with this choice quote: “1.3 billion Muslims cannot be defeated by a few million Jews. There must be a way. And we can only find a way if we stop to think, to assess our weaknesses and our strength, to plan, to strategise and then to counterattack. We are actually very strong. 1.3 billion people cannot be simply wiped out. The Europeans killed six million Jews out of 12 million. But today the Jews rule this world by proxy. They survived 2,000 years of pogroms, not by hitting back but by thinking.

They invented and successfully promoted socialism, communism, human rights and democracy so that persecuting them would appear to be wrong, so they may enjoy equal rights with others.”

In his latest posting on Thursday, Dr Mahathir, reflecting on Israel’s invasion and bombing of Gaza that have killed 832 Palestinians so far and injured thousands, wrote: “All these things the Israelis are doing are against international law, against morality, against human rights. They are criminals in every law of the civilised world.”

Dr Mahathir was scathing on his indictment of Israel, asserting that the “Israeli Jews do this with impunity”.
“They have the whole of America and Europe behind them. They are the chosen people of God and they are above any laws, any moral code, any human values. When Jews were persecuted by the Nazis in Germany they sought the sympathy and support of the world.

“But their sufferings have taught them nothing, have not made them understand the pain of suffering. Instead they are now behaving worse than Nazis, not caring at all for the sufferings and deaths they inflict upon others.
“The Europeans and the Americans created this monster and they care not for the atrocities committed by it. They will continue to support Israel even if the Israelis commit genocide and kill all the Arabs. This is their way to atone for all their treatment of the Jews in the past. The Jews should really be venting their spite on the Germans and other Europeans. But they are too smart. Killing Arabs is easier and more fun.”

Like all critics of Israel, Dr Mahathir has faced a barrage of counter-criticism from pro-Israeli apologists and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) aimed at anyone who questions Israel’s attack on Gaza or on any issues that shines a negative light on Israel. In recent years, this concerted barrage of pro-Israel counter-criticism was dubbed the “Israel Lobby”, a controversial book by John Mearsheimer, a University of Chicago professor, and Stephen Walt, a Harvard University professor, published in late August 2007.

Mearsheimer and Walt postulated that a “loose coalition of individuals and organisations actively work to steer US foreign policy in a pro-Israel direction”, focusing on the lobby’s influence on US foreign policy and its negative effects on American interests.

Dr Mahathir echoed the postulation by writing: “In this free world, we can accuse anyone of anything and it is tolerated because it is part of freedom of speech but the Jews may not be criticised in any way without the critic being labelled anti-Semitic.
“Many European countries support this view to the extent of jailing anyone accused of being anti-Semitic. Clearly, the Jews think of themselves as special beings privileged to the point of being above condemnation or even criticism.”

FRIDAY, 18 JULY 2014

Ladies and gentlemen,  I will now give a brief statement on the loss of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17.

On behalf of the Malaysian government, and the Malaysian people, I would like to offer my deepest sympathies and condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. Our hearts go out to those who have been affected by this tragedy.

In recent hours, officials in the US and the Ukraine have indicated that Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 was shot down. Should this be confirmed, it would contravene international law, and be an outrage against human decency.

Malaysia condemns any such action in the strongest possible terms, and calls for those responsible to be swiftly brought to justice.

As set out in the International Civil Aviation Organization’s Annex 13, the Ukrainian government will institute the investigation into the circumstances of the accident, and be responsible for the conduct of the investigation. Updates on the investigation will be provided to the next of kin by the investigating authority, as per the ICAO guidelines.

Malaysia offers its full and unqualified support to the investigation. Malaysia has been formally invited to participate, and will send two senior accredited representatives to assist.

Malaysia also welcomes calls for an independent international investigation into the incident, and urges all parties to co-operate to ensure such an investigation can be completed.
It is essential that the integrity of the crash site be preserved, out of respect for the investigation and for those who have died.

Malaysia Airlines takes its responsibilities to the next of kin seriously. The airline has arranged for some 40 staff to be flown to Amsterdam, to support the families.

Separately, as the Prime Minister announced this morning, Malaysia will today dispatch a Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team to Kiev.

In total, 62 people – 30 SMART team members, 15 medical staff, 10 Royal Malaysia Air Force representatives, 5 Malaysia Airlines staff, 2 Department of Civil Aviation staff – are travelling to Kiev.

Earlier today, Malaysia Airlines released a list of those on board the flight and their nationalities.  The list included 41 passengers whose nationality could not be verified at the time, as they were in transit from previous flights, and had not entered passport control in Amsterdam.

21 of these passengers’ nationalities have now been verified, and 20 remain to be verified. The latest breakdown of known nationalities of those on board is as follows:
173 from the Netherlands
44 Malaysians
27 Australians
12 Indonesians
9 from the United Kingdom
4 Germans
4 Belgians
3 Filipinos
1 Canadian
1 New Zealander
Malaysia Airlines is in the process of notifying the next of kin of those on board. Once all families have been contacted, the passenger manifest will be released. In addition, Malaysia Airlines will release the cargo manifest later today.

Responsibility for releasing further information about the investigation rests with the investigating authority, which in this case is the Ukrainian National  Bureau of Air Accidents and Incidents Investigation with Civil Aircraft.

The flight path taken by MH17 was approved by the International Civil Aviation Organization, and by the countries whose airspace the route passed through. And the International Air Transportation Association has also stated that the airspace the aircraft was traversing was unrestricted.

15 out of 16 airlines in the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines fly this route over Ukraine. European airlines also use the same route, and traverse the same airspace. In the hours before the incident, a number of other passenger aircraft from different carriers used the same route.

There were no last minute instructions given to the pilots of MH17 to change the route of the flight.

Earlier today, Malaysia Airlines released a statement on the aircraft’s service record, which showed the aircraft had a clean bill of health. They have also confirmed that all the aircraft’s systems were functioning normally. ACARS and the aircraft’s  transponders were working and transmitting as normal.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Before I take your questions, I would like to reiterate Malaysia’s condemnation of any attack on innocent civilians; its support for an independent international investigation; and most of all, its sympathies with those affected by this tragedy.

MH17 was carrying 298 passengers and crew. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families at what must be an incredibly difficult time.

The genocide mission

‪#‎PrayForGaza‬ ‪#‎FreeGaza‬ ‪#‎GazaUnderAttack‬

An Israeli army officer speaks out.. exposing all the shameful action of his Israeli army.. on how they purposely kills the Palestinian children.

The first day of the 21 days of Palestinian slaughter, begin exactly on Sept 27, 2008, at 11.25 am in the morning. Israeli army dropped 100 MT of bombs. They know that 1MT bomb will be able to destroy the entire city block and we all know Gaza is the most density populated, including more than 800,000 children.

The time when 100 MT bombs exploded was exactly the time where children were on the street during morning and afternoon school session exchange. The genocide mission was so very clear. That was the most shameful day in the jews history.

Listen to this simple explanation what security is all about in Israel. Everyday he walks freely on the street of Gaza, and yet to see any Palestinian to kill him just because he is an Israeli. The wall, the massive arm forces on the Gaza street has got nothing to do with security.

Palestinian has got nothing to do with security. It was merely an issue of, humiliating process by Israeli Army to the Palestinian, the hatred, racism, harassment, torture, bully and many provocation that stimulate anger to the Palestinian.. It is all about a desire to keep the Israeli and the Palestinian apart.

Any American could convey this message to your President? Can somebody from Singapore make this message conveyed to your leaders? Can someone pass this to OIC, UN…?

Anwar – The Root of the UMCedel Problem Datuk Huan Cheng Guan

When news broke out today that Universiti Malaya Centre for Democracy and Elections (Umcedel) director Redzuan Othman has been asked to resign from his position as the survey body’s director,  how many Malaysians tried to find out for themselves the real reason for this shocking development? Most relied on news and comments gleaned from online portals and went on their merry way condemning the government.

Redzuan and Umcedel became famous when Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak dismissed a survey finding just before the 2013 general election. That poll declared that Pakatan Rakyat’s manifesto had greater traction than BN’s manifesto. Many have accused BN of being sour grapes in its reaction to such unfavourable poll results. Can it really be so simple?

The reality is this. Professor Datuk Dr. Mohammad Redzuan bin Othman is not a social science research expert. His field of expertise is in History and Politics of the Middle East, Islamic Thought and Civilisation and Islam in Malaysia. His academic qualifications as seen HERE and his publications HERE show the depth of his interest in his field of expertise. That being the case, why was he chosen too head Umcedel?

To understand that, you need to backtrack to the days of Professor Tan Sri Dr. Ghauth Jasmon,  the 10th University of Malaya Vice-Chancellor (2008 to 2013). He and Professor Datuk Dr. Mohammad Redzuan bin Othman are staunch Anwar supporters who have a hidden agenda of making UM staff and students develop anti-government feelings. Redzuan, who was together with Anwar during ABIM days,  is the middle man in relations between Anwar and UM pro-Anwar leaders. In fact, Redzuan is the one disclosed how it was the government who had ordered him to cancel the forum featuring Nurul Izzah together with Dato Saifuddin Abdullan. Then, Redzuan unabashedly declared that he would go ahead with the forum anyway – an outward show of non-compliance.

Early this year, claims Kajang by-election candidate Zaid Ibrahim claimed that PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim had a hand in a Universiti Malaya Centre for Democracy and Elections (Umcedel) survey in Kajang which reflected positively on him becoming Menteri Besar of Selangor and the bizarre results showed that the Kajang voters sis not consider the by-election to be a waste of public money.

Today,  Housing, Local Government and Urban Well-being Minister Abdul Rahman Dahlan said UMCedel polls are biased and that he doubts Umcedel’s integrity. Citing questionable sampling methods and sampling sizes as  inherent weaknesses, his comments sparked a big twitter debate with many netizens including Liew Chin Tong and Ong Kian Ming.

The truth is this. Far beyond technical weaknesses in the methodology of UMCedel’s polls, they are flawed because of the links with Anwar and the quest to brainwash UM staff and students to rise against the government. To carry out political polls, the researcher/organization must be completely free of any affiliation with any political party.

On that count, UMCedel should never have allowed Redzuan to carry out the poll because of his dark link with Anwar. UMCedel was being used by an irresponsible chief who had no qualms about biting the hand that fed him.  As such, UMCedel shaped public opinion via distorted results to brainwash people into voting for Pakatan Rakyat in 2013.

Clearly, there is an insidious plot by Anwaristas to destabilize the government via Redzuan and other spun lies by online portals. What our government has done is to nip the problem at its bud before the cancer of lies spreads further. Hence, it is morally right to ask him to resign especially since his research studies are neither valid or reliable.

For now, do not be led by the nose for what you read may not necessarily be the truth, especially if Anwar is involved. The media, most of which are controlled by his cronies, will go to town and paint the government black if they could.

Always look beyond first impressions of news or articles. Test the accuracy and reliability of evidence before you pass judgement and condemn our government.

Can you now see the Anwar link? Spread the news!
