1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) today clarified that it has not been contacted by any foreign lawful authority on matters relating to the company.
Earlier today, it was reported that Switzerland’s financial regulators have agreed to the takeover and dissolution of BSI Bank Ltd, implicated in
investigations of the government’s strategic investment arm, 1MDB.
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), on the same day, also directed the private bank to shut down its operations in the country.
In a statement, 1MDB said it acknowledged the media statements issued today by lawful authorities in Switzerland and Singapore.
“1MDB remains committed to fully cooperating with any foreign lawful authority, subject to advice from the relevant domestic lawful authorities,
and in accordance with international protocols governing such matters.
“1MDB confirms that its ownership of various fund investments has not been impacted by the announcements today,” the company added.
